Join our Board and/or a Committee

Our Board of Directors is currently seeking additional members who share a passion for our mission to join our fun and driven team.

The Quick FAQs about DSI service:

  • Meetings: 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm CST via teleconference

  • Terms: 1 year, renewable

  • We are a remote, working board. You must be based in the U.S. to allow for synchronous board and committee work sessions.​

Or join a Committee to help advance this mission and dedicate your skills in a specific area of interest. Current committees include: 

  • Program development, in collaboration with our Advisory Working Group

  • Finance & HR

  • Fundraising

  • Communications

Assist with the DSI Triathlon & Inclusive 4k

The DSI Triathlon & Inclusive 4k is an awareness-raising and fundraising event that takes place in September in Red Wing, MN (where DSI is based).

 

2 ways to assist with our event:

  • Join our fundraising committee to help prep and run this event (longer-term). This involves tasks like seeking out sponsorships and donations, preparing materials, and helping to advertise. Email us to get involved.
     

  • Volunteer at the event (shorter-term). This involves tasks like registering and assisting racers, setup and takedown, and providing aid stations. Follow our facebook group and/or our events page to sign up prior to event day.

Become a DSI Ambassador

Help raise awareness and funds to sustain and grow DSI's mission! The possibilities for how are endless:

  • Create an online fundraiser

  • Host an awareness and fundraising event (big or small)

  • Help us seek out corporate sponsorships or contributions

  • Check out our Get Involved webpage for more ideas

Help us Continue to Grow and Maintain the Global Disability Directory

DSI's website hosts the Global Disability Directory, an online-based program to help those in need of disability services find out and connect with existing services.

 

We need ongoing help to translate pages, conduct research, and keep active organizations' profiles maintained. We do this on DSI 'Directory Days' (held virtually and in-person) and with the help of individual volunteers, helping anytime from anywhere.
